Patti and Jenny are teaching the children Bible lessons using a lesson plan.  They like to use melody to teach scripture which the kids really enjoy and respond to.  They sometimes do crafts and have a snack.

This quarter the class is studying these areas:

  -God's Wonderful World/Creation

-God's Goodness/He Gives Us what We Need

Kim and Holly are also using the church provided lesson plan to teach Bible lessons to the children.  They usually start off with a game, then they do their lesson and a craft.

3rd through 5th Grade

Teacher: Darryl Hannon

  Substitute/Assistant: Jessica Blakely

Darryl’s lesson plan is called Jesus on a Mission.  They are learning about Jesus and His disciples.

Scripture Challenge!

God has called everyone to repentance and to enjoy His marvelous salvation.  Scripture tells us that many are invited, but few are chosen.  This does not mean God has excluded some; rather, some will choose to follow and some will not.  Second Timothy chapter two, verse fifteen says, "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth."  Will you accept the call?

We have set a challenge for this class.  The challenge is to memorize the verses presented by this quarter's Sunday school papers.  Everyone is called to memorize the verses.  Make this a time to challenge yourself to do something beyond your normal routine.  Ask your family to see if they can memorize scripture with you.  Work as a team with family or classmates.

A reward of either a five dollar gift card from Dairy Queen or McDonalds will be given to those who choose to take the challenge and memorize the verses.  The day of the challenge will be Sunday May, 9th 2010.  Remember, this reward is nothing compared to the rewards your heavenly Father wishes to give you.

                                                                    Darryl Hannon

Junior Church

Teacher Lou Ann Shannon

The Hartford City Wesleyan Church offers a special Junior Church for children of all ages.

There is an average of 35 – 40 children who attend.  They worship, pray and learn God’s Word.  Some Sundays they have movie day or game day!

From Mrs. Lou Ann:

We had a Valentines day pizza party at the YMCA. We played games and watched the movie Esther. We had a great time! After that we began studying on prayer ... simply talking to God. On Easter, the kids wrote notes to God and we put them in balloons filled with helium and sent our prayer to heaven!! They loved this. The kids are memorizing scripture. We also are in the process of building a prayer wall with kids requests and we together are waiting to see how God answers our prayers.... We know all in Gods perfect time!!

Nursery Childcare    Ages 0-36 months
Our nursery provides excellent care to children 0-36 months.

Preschool Class      Ages 3-Kindergarten
Teachers:  Megan Swift (with Becky Bannach)
Megan and Becky start class by having the first 10 minutes to either play a game, read books, do puzzles, or play with playdough.
They then have prayer time and snack time. Then they have a lesson using the Group's Faithweaver Friends curriculum, and the children make a craft based on what was learned.

Elementary Class    Grades 1-5
Teacher: Kara Parsons
Utilizing Group's Faithweaver Friends curriculum, Kara Parsons' elementary class emphasizes a growing friendship with Jesus through fun dramas, projects, puzzles, science experiments and games.  Every week, a Bible story is taught and a main idea or application point is explored and reinforced through every activity experienced that night.  In addition, we share prayer requests as a group and pray over things going on in our lives that week.  It's wonderful seeing children pray and read the Bible, seeing older children assisting younger children with their projects, and seeing kids having fun as they learn truth from God's Word.
